CELLS is nestled within the Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc. (FITCI). This prime location grants us access to the FITCI Education Lab at a cost-effective monthly rate. This is a crucial first step in establishing our BioMakerSpace, a key component of our goal to be part of an interdisciplinary and versatile MakerSpace Hub. As a business incubator, FITCI will also provide invaluable mentorship to help CELLS grow and thrive. The CELLS BioMakerSpace at the FITCI CORE at 4539 Metropolitan Ct, Frederick, MD 21704
The CELLS BioMakerSpace is located in the Monocacy Technology Campus within FITCI. Please drive all the way to the end of Metropolitan Ct, past the "Precision Point" building. Our Building is tucked the back of the large parking into some beautiful landscape and trees.
The CELLS BioMakerSpace has 6 workstations for small classes and independent guided exploration activities, science fair projects, and internships during our open lab hours and by appointment. Available equipment in the BioMakerSpace includes incubators, spectrophotometer, high-speed microcentrifuge, gel electrophoresis equipment, blue light transilluminators, PCR machine, vacuum chamber and pump, microscopes, pH meter, and more. We have access to shared equipment that includes an autoclave, refrigerated centrifuges, commercial incubators, and limited -80C freezer space and more.
