Class Cancellation & Refund Policy
As a 100% volunteer-run non-profit organization, we do not currently receive outside grants or government funding. We rely entirely on class fees and donations to keep our lab doors open, maintain our equipment, and provide a space for the community to explore science. When you register for a class, your fee directly supports our ability to exist.
We strive to keep our class costs low and our quality high. Because our sessions involve perishable materials that our volunteers prepare specifically for you in advance, we have established the following policy:
Student Cancellations
More than 5 Days Notice: If you cancel your registration at least 5 full days before the class start date, you will receive a 100% refund.
Less than 5 Days Notice: Cancellations made within the 5-day window are non-refundable. At this stage, materials have already been sourced and prepared for your station.
Rescheduling & Make-up Sessions
We understand that life happens! While we cannot offer refunds on short notice, we will do our best to keep you learning:
Alternative Sessions: If the same class is being offered at a different time and has an open seat, we may be able to transfer your registration.
Open Lab Sessions: Depending on the nature of the experiment and material stability, we may offer a make-up opportunity during one of our scheduled Open Lab Sessions.
Please note: Make-up spots are subject to availability and the shelf-life of the specific experiment materials.
Cancellations by CELLS
If we must cancel a class due to instructor illness, low enrollment, or unforeseen circumstances:
You will be notified as soon as possible via the email provided at registration.
You will receive the choice of a full refund or a guaranteed spot in a future session of that class.
